This guide explains how to acquire document copies from K-State Libraries' databases using the Get It tool.
Get It attempts to retrieve full-text (online) or local (hard-copy) items for citations in database results. A similar function, named View It, links online items from citations in Search It results. More descriptions of accessing resources from Search It citations are given in the Search It guide.
In a database search, you may see Get It next to a citation rather than a full text icon.
Click Get It to determine if another database has the full text of this article.
If K-State Libraries have licensed access to the source in digital form, Full text available will display, with a link to the source of the online item.
If the full text article for a citation is NOT available online, the citation is searched by Search It, for physical holdings in our print collection.
Go to Search It to find the source publication (in this case, a journal), and find the volume for the article.
If the source is on loan, there are two request options available Request and Request from Interlibrary Loan.
