Awarded by the Kansas Reading Association, this award recognizes outstanding authors and illustrators as well as honors the memory of Kansas native, Bill Martin Jr., author of such classics as Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.


Effective April 2018, the Kansas Reading Association dissolved. Currently, no information is available about the future of the award.
