October 26, 2016, 4-5 pm
Hemisphere Room, Hale Library

Andy Bennett, Chris Sorenson and Scott Tanona will present on topics related to items on display in The Remnant Trust: Wisdom of the Ages exhibit including Archimedes OperaDella Scienza Mecanica by Galileo Galilei and Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica by Isaac Newton. Following the lecture guests can join our docents at the exhibit on Hale’s 2nd floor to handle items from the exhibit.

 

Political Thought
November 2, 2016, 4-5pm

Mark Crosby, Jon Mahoney, and Chris Remple will present on topics related to items on display in The Remnant Trust: Wisdom of the Ages exhibit including Rights of Man by Thomas Paine, Leviathan by Thomas Hobbes and the Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. Following the lecture guests can join our docents at the exhibit to handle items from the exhibit.

Rev. Katie Collins, Syed Haroon Bin Farrukh and Rev. Jonalu Johnstone will present on topics related to items on display in The Remnant Trust: Wisdom of the Ages exhibit including Scivias libri tres by Hildegard of Bingen, The Koran and The Torah. Following the lecture guests can join our docents at the exhibit on Hale’s 2nd floor to handle items from the exhibit.

 

Brown vs. Board
November 14th, 4-5pm

Lisa Hamer, JD, will present about the case of Oliver Brown vs. Board of Education. The Transcript of Record of Supreme Court for Oliver Brown vs. Board of Education of Topeka, Kansas is on display in The Remnant Trust: Wisdom of the Ages exhibit. Social Justice

Tosha Sampson-Choma and Sue Zschoche will present on topics related to items on display in The Remnant Trust: Wisdom of the Ages exhibit including Up From Slavery by Booker T. Washington and A Vindication of the Rights of Women by Mary Wollstonecraft. Following the lecture guests can join our docents at the exhibit on Hale’s 2nd floor to handle items from the exhibit.
