When K-State Libraries doesn't own a book, journal article, film, or other resource that you need, we'll try to borrow it for you from another library. This service is called Interlibrary Loan. We can obtain most types of materials through Interlibrary Loan, but we are not able to borrow textbooks.
Interlibrary Loan requests are usually handled at no out-of-pocket cost to K-State students, faculty, and staff - the costs are paid by the Libraries. If there is a cost for the loan, you will be asked ahead of time if you still want the item, but this is very rare.
When you use the Get It link from one of our databases, it will take you to a screen of options, including the Interlibrary Loan request screen.

You can submit interlibrary loan requests directly from our home page without using the Get It button. Logging in to your Interlibrary Loan account will allow you to not only submit requests, but also to edit them, ask for renewals, and download articles you have requested as PDF files. It is easy to set up an account:
1. From the K-State Libraries' home page, click the "Interlibrary loan" link.
2. Login with your eID and password - if you do not have an Interlibrary Loan account, it will prompt you to create one
3. Complete the registration form
