Google Scholar

Google Scholar is a useful tool for searching through a very broad scope of articles; however, be aware that they aren’t actually all “scholarly.” Look for the text “Get It @ KSU” instead of the usual “Get It” button to search for the full text of articles that don’t have an included PDF. It is sometimes found under the “more” link below the record.
Tips for Using Google Scholar:
Search for an exact phrase
To search for an exact phrase use quotes. Example: "tallgrass prairie"
Search for synonyms
To search for alternate terms with similar meanings use OR. Example: "tallgrass prairie" OR grassland
Use parentheses to combine search elements
More complex searches combine terms using OR and quotation marks. With parentheses you can control the order and combinations of your search terms. Example:
Use the Cited by link to find more recent articles citing the source

Use Google Scholar's simple interface to search across a broad range of scholarly literature in many disciplines.

Set Google Scholar to recognize you as a K-State user:
- Go to settings
- Choose Library links
- Search for and select Kansas State University Libraries
