Welcome to the BUSN 315 Supervisor Management Managing in India Guide.  Here you will find valuable information and resources to help you with research for the analysis project: Managing in India.  Please refer to the menu to navigate through the guide. If you should have any questions or need assistance accessing resources, contact your Salina librarian, Dr. Mirtz, at mirtz@ksu.edu.

This guide uses source material directly from the Government of India as well as several Indian information services. It's important to remember that not all countries have the same internet speeds and infrastructure. The network architecture in India is vastly different from the United States. As a result, pages may not load - simply try to reload them if they fail or use one of the alternative sources  provided - and files may not download as quickly as one would expect.  This is something that you should ponder as you evaluate your logistical and business strategies in-country.

India: A Brief Overview

India is a vast country located in South Asia, bordered by the Indian Ocean to the south, the Arabian Sea to the west, and the Bay of Bengal to the east. It is the seventh-largest country by land area and the second-most populous country in the world, with over 1.3 billion people. India is known for its diverse culture, rich history, and ancient civilizations, with evidence of human habitation dating back to at least 75,000 years ago. The country is also home to several famous landmarks, including the Taj Mahal, the Red Fort, and the Gateway of India.

With such rich cultural and social diversity and heritage, it is important to have a fundamental understanding of India.  The links below can provide you with information on national and international trends, news, economic information, and security status.  Pay particular attention to the IHS Markit 2023 Country profile.  This is a massive report with a wealth of information on India that provide several business and economic outlook indicators.
