How to Add Works to K-State's Digital Repository, K-REx

Papers and data that are freely available tend to enjoy higher citation rates than those only available by subscription. In this guide, learn when and how to add your work to the K-State Libraries' digital collections to support free open access.

What is the K-State Research Exchange?

The Research Exchange, or K-REx, is K-State's institutional repository. K-REx showcases a variety of content including digital scholarship created by K-State scholars and K-State libraries digital collections. K-REx is globally accessible by anyone with access to the Internet. Generally, only members of the KSU academic community may submit works to be added.

The three types of content K-REx showcases are 1) Research, Scholarly and Creative Activities, and Discovery (RSCAD) works from academic units and other university units, 2) Electronic Theses, Dissertations, and Reports (ETDRS) from graduate students, and 3) Unique digital collections.

Technical Information: K-REx is a branded instance of version 6X of the DSpace software package, with a Mirage 1 front-end.

Content Included in K-REx

Research, Scholarly and Creative Activities, and Discovery (RSCAD) works, born digital or in a digitized format, developed or produced by the K-State community may be included in the institutional repository. The K-State community, as it pertains to this policy, shall be defined as any current employee or student of Kansas State University.
