This guide helps members of the K-State community understand how to add RSCAD (Research, Scholarly and Creative Activities, and Discovery) works to the K-State Research Exchange (K-REx), K-State’s digital institutional repository.

Are You Ready to Share Your Work?

If you know your permissions or gotten help figuring out your permissions, then it is time to share. On this page there are 4 methods for submitting work to K-REx. Choose the one that fits the type of work you want to share.

Share Your Article, Conference Paper, Presentation, Poster, and Other Works

Share Your Work(s) — Log in and Open K-REx Submission Form
Describing Your Submission to K-REx
Required
  • Author(s) (Enter the names of all authors of this item (Family name, Given names Middle initial.))
  • Title (Enter the main title of the item.)
  • Date (Please give the date of public distribution or previous publication.)
  • Type (Select the type of content of the item. If there are multiple items, select the type that best describes the content of the main item.)

Preferred, but Optional

  • Abstract 
  • Subject Keywords (Press Enter on the keyboard following each keyword or phrase.)
  • Digital Object Identifier (DOI) (Enter the DOI associated with the item, if applicable)
Content included in K-REx

Current faculty, staff, students or community partners of Kansas State University are encouraged to share their Research, Scholarly and Creative Activities, and Discovery (RSCAD) works through K-REx. Examples of what can be shared include:

  • Documents, such as published articles, preprints, author's accepted manuscripts, working papers, technical reports or conference papers.
  • Presentation slides or posters.
  • Theses, dissertations or reports.
  • Learning objects.
  • Data sets. (File Sizes Up to 2GB)
  • Computer programs.
  • Visualizations, simulations and other models.
  • Multimedia publications.
  • Books.
  • Images.
  • Audio files.
  • Video files.
  • Web pages.
  • Other material that might be important to scholars or researchers.

By submitting to the K-State Research Exchange, submitters accept the terms of K-State's Non-Exclusive Distribution License.

Recommended File Types

The following are the recommended file types for works being submitted to K-REx.

  • Text, including presentation slides - PDF (*.pdf, portable document format) or TXT (*.txt, text file)
  • Spreadsheet(s) - CSV (*.csv, comma separated value) or Tab Delimited (*txt)
  • Audio - MP3 (*.mp3) and/or WAV (*.wav)
  • Video, Video and Audio - MP4 (*.mp4)
  • Still images - TIFF (*.tif), PNG (*.png), and/or JPEG/JFIF (*.jpg)
